Wandigo was purpose built by developer Egemen Kasimoglu for multi-monitor systems. The application allows you to assign a specific wallpaper to the monitor of your choosing – thus, you can have three different images on three different monitors connected to your system. Furthermore, the application can automatically change the wallpaper ever 30 minutes, every hour, or every day. How much does the developer ask in return for providing this sort of functionality? Nothing – Wandigo is free.

Wandigo will work on any Windows-powered machine that has .NET Framework 3.5 or newer on it. You will have no problems installing the application on a PC powered by Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8. Just download an MSI installer, run it, and go through the instructions presented by a setup wizard.

While Wandigo is running, you will notice an orange icon in the system tray. Double click it and you will be presented with the Wandigo Configuration window. At the top of this window you will see all the displays connected to your machine. Underneath there’s a section that lists all the images you choose to be used as wallpapers. And further down you will see a few options for customizing how the wallpapers will be displayed: center, shrink to fit, stretch to fit, change background color, a dropdown for choosing how often the wallpaper will be changed, a button for changing the wallpaper right then and there, and a check box for launching Wandigo at system startup.

From a functionality point of view, Wandigo has the following to offer: choose which images will be used as a desktop wallpaper, automatically move from one wallpaper to another, assign a wallpaper to the monitor of your choosing, have Wandigo automatically run at startup. As already mentioned, Wandigo is free software.

Use Wandigo to easily assign different wallpapers to all the monitors in your multi-monitor setup.

Pros

Getting Wandigo up and running is a simple matter. You’ll easily set things up just the way you want them from the Configuration window. Assign different wallpapers to the monitors on your multi-monitor setup. Have Wandigo automatically cycle through the wallpapers. Wandigo is free.

Cons

None that I could think of.
